The beginning of this book was a little confusing. I couldn't quite figure out how to read it. But, once I got that down, I couldn't put the book down. It's been a long time since a book has made me cry while reading it! I didn't want it to end. I was a little disappointed in the last few pages. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone!

This book is a blend of science fiction and a love story that really works well, and if you are nt a science fiction fan, but are looking for a love story, do not let the sceince fiction aspects of the book dissuade you from reading this.
Henry has a "disorder" which places him at various points in time, which is not the best thing for a relatiohship, at least so it would seem. But his wife, Clare, is able to adjust to the disappearances and manges to love him throughout it all, and he loves her.
And the message is convyed without being overly dramatic, instead it unfolds through events and time, literally and figuratively, as the book unfolds. It captures a gamut of emotions, happiness, sadness and ultimately love in its pages.
Highly recommended.

I read this when it came out and decided to read it again when I heard the movie was coming out, and it was just as enjoyable and moving the second time throught it.
In The Time Traveller's Wife, Clare has is married to Henry, who redefines a wandering husband as he jumps back and forth through time, often meeting Clare or others that influenced his life, including himself.
Throguh this upheavel, they are in love and the story unfolds, back and forth, on how they met and are there for one another. A unique and engaging twist on a love story.

I am usually easily entertained by the books I read, but perhaps due to all the hype this book got (and the hype the movie is getting) I was expecting something a little more ....breath-taking. For me I felt like I just kept waiting and waiting and waiting for the good parts to come, but I was always only half satisfied after each chapter. The aspect of disappearing and reappearing (so metaphysically) through past, present and future was indeed a more modern and different perspective, however it got old fast. Towards the end, the magic of it all just kept fading, until it almost became annoying. The romance in the novel is also a bit questionable since the age differences are often playing on the lines of illegal, and you don't really see past the attraction they have for each other besides the physical. The character development also didn't go too deep, which always made the story seem distant from the reader, whereas I prefer books that make me feel like I am the characters' close companion or that I deeply understand the character despite our differences. However, I look forward to spending my hard earned 10 dollars and seeing the movie in theatres. Readers enjoy. -touch, feel, smell, IMAGINE.

I picked this book up for free in a book trade and was enamored with story. All I kept thinking was how much time had to go into the details and complexity of the story, but how wonderful the story was. I knew then that it would be a great movie and I anxiously await the release.
